Berry campaign goes viral in Netherlands, Belgium and Germany with over 30 million social media views

“A Handful of Summer” reaches 8.7 million people and records 30.5 million views in the first months.

The new promotional campaign “Een Handje Zomer” (“A Handful of Summer”), launched in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany to encourage the consumption of berries, has already exceeded its annual targets. The announcement comes from the Dutch group GroentenFruit Huis, promoter of the project.

With fresh content, direct communication and localized posts, the campaign has reached 8.7 million users on Instagram and TikTok and totaled 30.5 million views just a few months after launch.

Content, recipes and engagement

“We have shown how berries are healthy, tasty and versatile at any time of the day,” the statement reads.

Among the most appreciated content were recipes such as strawberry galette and blueberry bars, which highlighted the campaign’s key themes: health, convenience and enjoyment.

Also notable was the active engagement: over 19,000 video saves indicate genuine interest from the audience.

Future outlook and improvements

Despite the success, GroentenFruit Huis identified areas for improvement, especially in website engagement and in linking berry consumption to specific moments such as breakfast or sports.
