The event also represents an opportunity to present the industrial project of the multinational Del Monte, the world's largest producer of pineapples. Del Monte, in fact, will market and later produce, for the first time, made in Italy products. Thus, a supply chain of contributors made up of berry producers in the province of Trapani begins. The event will allow potential producers interested in becoming part of Del Monte's supply chain to learn more about the supply project, join, learn about the economic values of the Italian berry market, and all the new agronomic choices and innovations that allow for high-standard production.

Del Monte's choice to focus on Sicilian products for its fresh-fruit line – explains Massimo Mirabella, director of the monthly magazine Agrisicilia and organizer of the Symposium - is unprecedented and can really represent a turning point in the Sicilian production system. I really think that being part of a production and supply project for such an important and solid brand allows the Sicilian producer to grow in terms of product quality, quantity of surfaces invested in berries and knowledge of new technologies useful for quality production.”

The program includes a visit to the experimental greenhouse specially created for the event, which will contain all the technological innovations presented at the Symposium as well as varieties of blueberries and other crops that will be presented to Marsala producers in advance.
