In supermarkets in Brescia, prices for berries are generally rising across all product categories, due to the seasonal transition for blueberries and the lack of product availability for blackberries and raspberries. Prices are also increasing for red currants, as they approach the end of the season.
As for quality standards, products are generally well presented, with good overall quality across all origins.
At the same time, there is the presence of few brands, with very strong continuity and visibility of the most well-known brands, which are firmly established in this area. With regard to pack sizes, larger blueberry formats are gradually disappearing due to the end of the season, with a return to 125 g and 50 g packs, which are still fairly common.
This is what emerges from the surveys conducted by the Berry Observatory, which yesterday, December 17, 2025, covered the urban area of Brescia. In particular, the Observatory visited 18 retail outlets belonging to 18 banners from 15 organized large-scale retail groups: Aldi, Carrefour Market, Conad, Conad Superstore, Coop, Dpiù, Esselunga, Eurospin, Famila Superstore, In's, Ipercoop, Italmark, Lidl, MD, Migross, Penny, Prix, Rossetto.

In the berry category, the stores visited offered a minimum of one and a maximum of eight SKUs, with an average of 4 SKUs per store.
89% of stores carry raspberries; 94% blueberries; 50% blackberries; 39% red currants; and 44% carry mixed berry packs.
