Press release
The first field reports collected by APMF indicate an overall early French blueberry season in 2026, with encouraging production prospects. Harvesting already began on 26 May in the South-West, in open-field production. The production peak is expected in mid-June, while the 2026 harvest is forecast to end in early October.
After an overall favourable spring, the high temperatures and lack of rainfall recorded in recent days are providing ideal conditions for the start of the harvest, with fruit expected to be of excellent quality both in terms of flavour and keeping quality.
Most of the growers interviewed expect stable or increasing volumes, with good fruit load in the orchards and a relatively limited impact from spring frosts.
Expected production
After a French harvest estimated at around 4,000 tonnes in 2025, the sector could take another step forward in 2026, with production expected to increase.
The market context also remains favourable ahead of the French season. Consumption remains dynamic on the European market and demand continues to be high. In this scenario, the expected increase in French volumes should make it possible to respond more broadly to market needs, while at the same time strengthening the presence of French origin.
