With more than 1,700 delegates representing nearly 200 companies, 57 exhibition stands and over 30 speakers, the eleventh edition of the Congreso Internacional de Frutos Rojos, organised by Freshuelva, closed with record-breaking figures. Freshuelva is the association representing more than 100 companies in the berry sector at international level.
The event, held in Huelva on 17 and 18 June 2026, confirmed its role as a reference point for the entire berry supply chain, combining technical insight, networking opportunities and discussion among the sector’s leading players.

Over thirty speakers to analyse the evolution of the sector
The congress programme featured more than thirty speakers from companies and organisations of international relevance. Among them was Mario Steta, President of the International Blueberry Organization, who contributed his perspective on the global scenario for the sector.
The closing presentation by Andy Stalman, branding expert, was also particularly well received. He underlined the strategic importance of brand building for every company, while also stressing that the human factor must remain central to any development strategy.

Water, genetics, biotechnology and hydroponic production
The technical sessions addressed some of the most relevant issues for the sector today, including water resource management, the circular economy, biotechnology, genetic research and hydroponic production.
The programme also included moments dedicated to conviviality and the promotion of the local area, with a showcooking session by chef Daniel Del Toro and a rock concert that closed the first day of the congress.

Huelva as a meeting point for the international supply chain
The event has become an established meeting point for all players in the supply chain, offering the opportunity to exchange views in a relaxed atmosphere at the end of the production and commercial season and to take stock of the campaign just concluded.
“We are very pleased with how the congress went: we recorded a new attendance record with more than 1,700 delegates,” said Rafael Domínguez, General Manager of Freshuelva. “The quality of the content was also very high, from the opening session led by Luis Galindo to the closing presentation by Stalman, including the more than thirty speakers who offered highly interesting insights. Over these two days, Huelva became the key hub of the berry sector, both nationally and internationally, and we are confident that we will continue to grow in the coming years.”
