The survey took place on 12/10/2023 in the urban area of Turin and covered 20 shops of 20 brands belonging to 16 retail groups.
The assortments of the shops of the following brands were surveyed: Aldi, Banco Fresco, Bennet, Borello, Carrefour, Carrefour Express, Coop, Dpiù, Eurospin, Il Gigante, IN's, Lidl, MD, Mercatò, Pam, Penny, Sigma, Spazio Conad, U2.
This week prices are generally quite high, with all references well above € 20/kg. There were many geographical origins fielded to cope with the supply difficulties; for example, for blueberries there are packages from Peru, South Africa, Argentina, Poland, Zimbabwe.
Average quality was good, with a good rotation thanks also to the reduced shelf space that all sales outlets have activated in order to downsize the category in view of the high prices and the consequent reduced volumes,
