The Mexican Society of Specialists in Protected Agriculture (SMEAP) is the organization that integrates and represents professionals in this sector in Mexico, and its annual activities include a series of training courses; "As a civil society, we provide specialized technical training to producers and technicians who request it, as well as to organizations related to the protected agriculture sector."

As part of these trainings and blueberries production month, a series of webinars related to the topic is being developed, inviting professionals to present in their area of expertise.

Next Tuesday, October 4 at 6 p.m. from Mexico, Peru, Ecuador, and 8 p.m. from Chile, Paula del Valle will present her extensive knowledge of Mexican production systems, where she has worked for more than 10 years in quality and post-harvest management of berries.

His theme this time will be: "Post-harvest management of blueberries", where he will review the main opportunities and challenges in preserving fruit quality and condition for the Mexican market.

The seminar will be in Spanish.

PAULA DEL VALLE

Agricultural engineer with diplomas in agricultural management, postgraduate studies in agricultural science and post-harvest fruit. He has worked with several nurseries in genetic improvement programs for fruit trees, especially blueberries.

He served as Quality Manager and Corporate Postharvest Manager, leading a series of projects in the Innovation Area and Postharvest Area in Chile, Mexico, Peru, Argentina, Colombia, Ecuador, the United States, Europe, and China.

Since September 2020, he has been working as a consultant for quality, post-harvest and innovation in berries through his My blue project platform (part of the global network of Italian Berry), which brings together post-harvest technologies and related scientific information.
