The Association L.A.ME.T.A. Consuting Ets on 29 and 30 April 2024 is a partner of the II Strawberry Festival of Basilicata to be held in Scanzano Jonico (Mt).
On this occasion, on 29 April it is organising the technical day and round table in C.so De Gasperi of Scanzano Jonico "THE VALORISATION OF THE BASILICATA STRAWBERRY THROUGH THE PROTECTED GEOGRAPHIC INDICATION".
The technical training day will begin at 3.30 p.m. at Az. FARM Soc. Coop Agr. srl in Via Bellino 10 in Policoro (Mt) located near the FEVI fruit and vegetable warehouse and will then continue at 4.30 p.m. at az. TENUTA ZUCCARELLA located in Via Sinni in Scanzano, where it will be possible to visit the strawberry fields cultivated with innovative agronomic techniques, in particular in SOILLESS with different techniques and with the method of Integrated Defence, reducing the use of phytosanitary products and using useful insects, micro-organisms and products with a low environmental impact for phytosanitary defence, rationalising the use of fertilisers and irrigation with avant-garde technologies with a model of Agriculture 4.0.
After the greetings of the Secretary of L.A.ME.T.A. consulting Alfredo Carullo and the President of the Order of Agronomists and Forestry Doctors of the Province of Matera Domenico Laviola, Dr. Michele D'Arino from FARM and Dr. Lorena Liuzzi from Tenuta Zuccarella will explain the new strawberry cultivation techniques.
At 5.30 p.m., the pomological exhibition will open, covering the different strawberry cultivars included in the programme of national varietal lists by Dr. Carmelo Mennone of the Alsia of Pantanello Metaponto, who will introduce the Round Table by explaining the state of the art of strawberry varieties in Basilicata .
Following the evening at 19: 00 will begin the Round Table entitled 'THE VALORISATION OF THE BASILICATA STRAWBERRY THROUGH THE PROTECTED GEOGRAPHICAL INDICATION' moderated by Sauro Angelini, director of Agrilinea TV, where illustrious speakers and experts in the sector will participate, such as EMILIA PIEMONTESE - Director of the Department of Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies ; ALBERTO ALBERTINI - Head of Technical Inspection and Product Certification CCPB; SALVATORE PECCHIA - President of the Basilicata Strawberry PGI Promoting Committee; ANIELLO CRESCENTI - Director ALSIA; STEFANO DEL LUNGO - CNR Researcher - POTENZA ;
At 20:00 there will be the thanks of the Sponsors and Partners by Valchirio Piraccini, Sauro Angelini and Don Francesco Lauciello.
The two days, 29 and 30 April, will be characterised by the presence of all the players of the Vegetable Nursery Farmers Cooperative chain with stands also dedicated to FOOD, where the strawberry is a recipe for the various dishes that can be tasted during the two-day Basilicata Strawberry Festival. Moreover, by participating in the Basilicata Strawberry Festival, it will be possible to discover Basilicata, a land of culture, history belonging to Magna Graecia, with an added value as the first region at national level for strawberry cultivation.
