Trento retail stores: Italy dominant, yet insufficient

46

Blueberries show a stable market situation, with competitive prices. Italy remains the leading origin, although it is unable to meet the entire national demand, making imports from Spain and Romania necessary.

As for raspberries and blackberries, production is mainly Italian. There are some exceptions for raspberries, with supplies from Poland filling specific production gaps.

Prices remain generally low across all references, with a tendency to offer packs larger than 125 grams, up to 500 grams. Quality is good and the products are fresh, thanks to high turnover driven by competitive pricing.

Here is a summary of the latest update from the Small Fruits Observatory. Yesterday, July 9, 2025, the survey took place in the urban area of Trento, covering 17 retail stores from 16 brands belonging to 11 large-scale retail groups.

Specifically: Aldi, Conad, Conad Margherita, Despar, Eurospar, Eurospesa, Eurospin, Famiglia Cooperativa, iperPoli, Lidl, MD, MiniPoli, Orvea, Pam, Poli, Prix.

In the small fruits category, stores offered from a minimum of one to a maximum of seven SKUs, with an average of 3.9 SKUs per store.
