Torino retail stores: rich assortment and falling prices for berries

121

The market in Turin is certainly rich in products and also shows an interesting segmentation: from premium to organic to zero residue options in many stores. Moreover, there is a good variety of packaging formats for blueberries (ranging from 125 grams to 170, 250, 300, and 500 grams).

The market also confirms its richness in terms of brands, even within the same store, which makes it a bit confusing but also confirms the wide range of offerings this season.

As for prices of blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries, they are declining, although the situation varies from supermarket to supermarket. The quality depends on the store, with many lots from a week ago showing clear signs of deterioration.

These are the findings from the latest Berry Market Observatory held yesterday, May 27, 2025, in the urban area of Turin, covering 19 stores from 19 banners belonging to 14 retail groups.

The banners analyzed include: Aldi, Banco Fresco, Bennet, Carrefour, Carrefour Express, Carrefour Market, Coop, Dpiù, Eurospin, Il Gigante, IN's, Lidl, MD, Mercatò, Pam, Penny, Sigma, Spazio Conad, U2.
