The U.S. trade organization U.S. Highbush Blueberry Council announced that it has received $1.5 million as part of the latest round of funding from the USDA Regional Agricultural Promotion Program.

The council stated that these funds will help to diversify and expand market opportunities in emerging global markets, such as Southeast Asia.

"The impact of funding for export promotion is significant for the berry industry. This second grant will allow us to continue our success in leading the increase in global berry consumption," said Kasey Cronquist, President of USHBC, in a press release.

"These funds are crucial for our efforts to expand into markets like Vietnam, India, and South Korea. We are grateful to have been awarded a grant for the second time this year as we continue to promote the quality, versatility, and health benefits of berries in new markets."
