In Brescia blackberries and raspberries hold up retail prices

78

There are few raspberries and blackberries on the shelves of the Large-Scale Retail Trade (GDO) in Brescia due to a shortage of supply. The situation is better for blueberries, with satisfactory prices and assortments, available in formats ranging from 125 to 500 grams. However, quality standards are good for all product references.

Regarding origins, blueberries come from Peru, Morocco, Spain, and primarily Chile. Raspberries originate from Spain, Italy, and Morocco, while blackberries come exclusively from Mexico. Meanwhile, the first red currants from Chile have started to appear.

This is the result of observations by the Italian Berry Retail Monitor, which on February 12, 2025, monitored the urban area of Brescia. Specifically, the Berry Monitor in Brescia visited 17 stores from 17 different retail chains belonging to 14 groups in the Large-Scale Retail Trade: Aldi, Carrefour Market, Conad, Conad Superstore, Coop, Dpiù, Esselunga, Eurospin, Famila Superstore, In's, Ipercoop, Italmark, Lidl, MD, Migross, Penny, Rossetto.
