The survey took place on 14/11/2023 in the urban area of Bologna and covered 20 shops of 20 brands belonging to 12 large-scale retail groups.
The assortments of the shops of the following brands were surveyed: Aldi, Carrefour, Carrefour Express, Carrefour Market, Conad City, Conad Superstore, COOP, Despar, Dpiù, Esselunga, Eurospar, Eurospin, IN's, inCOOP, Ipercoop, Lidl, PAM, PAM Local, Sigma.
In Bologna, the quality of all references tends to be good due to a rather fast rotation. Most of the production lots belonged to no earlier than 11 November. Prices remain high due to the lack of blueberries, blackberries and raspberries in production. Small fruits are generally well sorted but without much shelf space or large quantities in baskets due to small quantities. The formats are almost exclusively in 125g with high checkout lines. We found up to three brands for the same reference in the same shop.
At the time of the visit there were no small fruits in the assortment at CRAI.

In the small fruit category in the shops visited there were a minimum of 1 and a maximum of 6 references, with an average of 3.1 references per shop.
