Kubo builds zero-emission high-tech strawberry greenhouses in Canada and Saudi Arabia using Ultra-Clima system

Kubo, a Dutch company specialized in greenhouse technology, has built two new strawberry production facilities in Canada and Saudi Arabia.

These sites adopt the Ultra-Clima model: a semi-closed, emission-free system that combines sustainability, efficiency, and agronomic innovation.

Ultra-Clima: Sustainable and emission-free cultivation

The Ultra-Clima system integrates screen filters and controlled airflow, reducing the need for chemical treatments.

CO₂ is managed through a zero-emission strategy, making the model particularly appealing for environmentally conscious markets or those with extreme climatic conditions.

Greenhouse trials for global innovation

Kubo tests new cultivation techniques in its dedicated trial centres, aiming to provide practical solutions for growers.

“We demonstrate which innovations are truly effective, adapting them to different market needs,” the company explains.

In the case of strawberries, the trials focus on increasing yields, improving fruit quality, testing varieties and substrates, and developing scalable cultivation strategies.

Global vision, local application

With these two new facilities, Kubo strengthens its position in high-tech berry cultivation.

It’s a forward-looking model, designed to make greenhouse production more sustainable and profitable—anywhere in the world.
