In supermarkets in Trieste, prices are rising for blueberries and, especially, raspberries, while blackberries are decreasing and currants remain more uncertain.
The quality of blueberries is fair, raspberries are good, blackberries are struggling in sales, while currants are doing fine. Supermarkets are reasonably stocked, but there is not a large amount of product on the shelves, confirming that the area is not particularly suited for small fruit sales.
There are few brands and packers, a sign of a rather static market where only the most important players are present (Sant'Orsola, Garden, and Orsero).
