NSG: strawberry workshop and open day announced

In Policoro Workshop and Open Day of the NSG Research Center: the present and the future between development, research and sustainability

A workshop entitled "The strawberry: sustainable varietal innovation as a factor in the development of production and consumption" will be held in Policoro (MT) on March 30 at the San Vincenzo Hotel, and an Open Day scheduled for March 31 at the Nova Siri Genetics (NSG) Research and Experimentation Center at 7 Via Santacroce, Policoro. The Open Day will be open to anyone who would like to learn about the research and experimentation center, which consists of a research laboratory, conservation and growth greenhouse and experimental fields. The doors of the center are open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The workshop will provide an opportunity to discuss developments in the strawberry sector in the Mediterranean basin; it will be moderated by Manuela Soressi, journalist for IlSole24Ore. After the introductory greetings, which will be given by Carmela Suriano, Business Development Director EMEA, Claudio Scalise, managing partner SGMarketing Agroalimentare, is expected to present an analysis of the structural and evolutionary scenario of the strawberry sector with focus on Italy, Spain and Morocco.

As for the panel discussion on production trends and challenges in the strawberry sector in Italy, Spain and MoroccoChiara Volpato, senior project manager Agrifood of Nomisma, Jorge Duarte, senior agronomist and CEO of Hortitool Consulting and Amine Bennani, president of AMPFR, Moroccan Association of Small Fruit Producers, are scheduled to speak.

The workshop will be hosted in the elegant hospitality facility at 218 Cato Street and will begin at 5 p.m.
