The survey took place on 02/12/2021 in the urban area of Milan and covered 20 stores of 20 retailers belonging to 16 large-scale retail groups.
Stores of the following retailers were visited: Aldi, Bennet, Carrefour Express, Carrefour Market, Conad, Conad City, Esselunga, Eurospin, Famila Superstore, Il Gigante, iN's, Iperal , Ipercoop, Lidl, MD, Pam, Penny, Sigma, Tigros, U2.
In the category of berries the shops visited had a minimum of 1 and a maximum of 6 references, with an average of 3.9 references per shop.
The groups with the best quality were Aldi, Bennet, Carrefour, Italmark, Rewe, Rossetto, Selex.
The shops visited featured berries from a total of 29 brands. The brand with the highest average prices in the category was Fresmiel. The brand with the lowest average prices for blueberries was Alma, followed by Garden Frutta.
