On January 31, 2023, the International Society for Horticultural Science published a text entitled "Proceedings of the XII International Vaccinium Symposium." The textbook features the participation of more than 150 authors, with a total collection of 53 papers. The material was produced based on the XII International Vaccinium Symposium, held in Canada between August 30 and September 2, 2021.
The event, hosted by Dalhousie University and organized by ISHS was held electronically due to COVID-19 issues, but this enabled the production of a compendium of presentations, speeches and Q&A snippets that could be entirely found online, on the basis of which the compendium of published materials could later be created.
Over the course of the three days, oral and poster presentations were made in disciplines including breeding; genetics, genomics and phenomics; berry composition, quality and physiology post-harvest berry composition, quality and physiology; pest management; production systems and sustainability; germplasm and propagation; germplasm and propagation; soil fertility, physiology and plant nutrition.
The symposium made use of new technologies for virtual conferencing, including the ability to access recorded sessions on demand through a variety of devices, attend and participate in a virtual trade show and a virtual field tour.
The volume can be purchased online in digital format on the ISHS website for €94, but it is possible, by subscription, to read individual papers directly in PDF format.
