International Blueberry Seminar arrives in Casablanca to promote the Moroccan berry

Blueberries Consulting, a company with more than 8 years of experience in organising seminars on blueberriesin Peru, Chile, Spain and Mexico, is coming to Africa to organise one of its events on the continent for the first time.

Increasingly, Morocco is a country that resonates more in the global market of blueberries, given the growth of its industry. Since 2005, the area cultivated with the fruit has increased more than 15 times, driven by foreign investment that sees the country as a powerhouse for the development of this agro-export.

This is why Blueberries Consulting, which is committed to development and innovation around the cultivation and marketing of this berry, decided to improve the functioning of the Moroccan industry by organising the 21st international blueberries seminar Morocco 2022.

On 9 June at the Hyatt Regency Casablanca hotel, international experts, producers, exporters, local and international supply companies and leaders of the Moroccan agricultural sector will meet to discuss the promising future of the national blueberry. The programme, which will be published soon, is designed to have technical talks to help overcome difficulties that reduce profitability and fruit quality, improving the competitiveness of blueberrywith actions from the field. Thus the management of pests and diseases according to the strict regulations of the main Moroccan markets, the use of cultivation strategies to improve fruit quality in plants with water stress or types of management to improve the production process of the fruit until it is exported will be addressed.

In addition, the commercial opportunities for the Moroccan berry will be analysed, explaining what differentiates the successful Moroccan blueberryfrom its competitors, the state of the industry after the pandemic, and what its projection is.

Morocco's position in the competitive global berry market will also be discussed, and how its participation in the most attractive demanding markets can be improved.

To make these speeches, Blueberries Consulting invites prominent foreign speakers such as Jorge Retamales, Master of Science and PhD. in Horticulture, who has dedicated his professional career to research on blueberries; Douglas Rodriguez, Plant Health Manager EMEA of Planasa and PhD in Phytopathology; Cort Brazelton, CO-CEO of Fall Creek; and María del Carmen Salas, Doctor in Horticulture and professor at the University of Almería.
