RETAIL, PRICES AND CONSUMPTION: THE SEMI-ANNUAL REPORT ON TH...

335

In the semi-annual report "Gdo, Prices and Consumption," Italian Berry draws the state of the berries sector in Italy, with analysis ranging from GDO strategies, department configuration in stores, weekly price trends and consumer behavior.

The paper analyzes in 56 pages the main features of a market that, while it is growing, has quite a few shadows that are holding back its full development of all its untapped potential.

Just one figure is enough to measure the distance to be bridged: while in Italy the berries category (strawberries + berries) is worth 548 million in the period July 2021 to June 2022 (GfK data for Italian Berry), in the United Kingdom the category is worth more than 1.9 billion euros, which is more than 3.4 times more than in our country.

So there is ample room for growth, and this is good news, but appropriate actions need to be put in place to accelerate the progress of the berries category.

Italian Berry 's semi-annual report aims to help raise awareness about this section of the fruit and vegetable department and does so with a document full of figures, data, and analysis.

Happy reading.
