CSO Italy has announced the extensive program that will characterize its presence at Berry Area 2025, where the main event will be the launch of the promotional project for strawberries and berries, "BERRY SWING," a project funded 70% by the European Commission.
The project's participating members (Apofruit, Apo Scaligera, Lagnasco, Coop Sole, Mazzoni, Gullino) will have the opportunity during the event to share their experiences, highlighting the virtues of these fruits.
Project objectives and strategies
Elisa Macchi, director of CSO Italy, stated: “The project we will present at Macfrut 2025 aims to promote the consumption of berries in Italy and Germany.
The specific communication focus is on young people and young adults, a segment particularly responsible for the decline in fruit consumption, yet showing a growing trend in berry consumption.”
The three-year project, starting in March 2025, includes a digital strategy with informative channels, including social media.
It also plans participation in major national and international sporting events, as well as on-field promotional initiatives in Italy and Germany.
Production and distribution data
CSO Italy will also contribute to the Berry Area 2025 event program with two presentations on production and retail distribution.
In fact, the updated data from the Italian berry registry will be presented, along with regional cultivation area estimates, compared with some European countries.
The retail distribution of berries will also be the subject of an event: CSO Italy will present data on retail berry purchases by sales channel.
A key event for the supply chain
The analysis will include quantity and value trends, integrated with data broken down by geographical areas and consumer household profiles in relation to the sales channel.
With this program, CSO Italy will actively contribute to making the Berry Area at Macfrut 2025 the leading event for the berry supply chain.
The interest of industry professionals is already evident from the strong presence of sponsors and exhibitors who have joined the three-day event dedicated to berries, the youngest and most dynamic category in the fruit and vegetable sector.
