On 14 December in Boves (CN), a technical event organised by Agrion will provide an overview of varietal trials, plant protection management and innovative techniques for berries.
An afternoon of technical insights on remontant strawberry, blueberry, raspberry and agrivoltaics: this is what the Agrion Foundation proposes on Thursday, 11 December 2025 at 2:30 pm at the Vegetable Experimental Centre of Boves (CN). The meeting will also be accessible online.

Plant health overview and varietal comparison
The programme will open with a presentation by Roberto Giordano (Agrion Foundation), who will outline the plant health situation of strawberries and other berries, analysing the critical issues and containment strategies for the main diseases.
Giordano will then present the results of the varietal trials on remontant strawberry, offering a comparative overview of the cultivars tested in the experimental fields.
The focus will then shift to blueberry and raspberry, with a presentation by Cristiano Carli (Agrion Foundation), who will illustrate data from the varietal comparison between different selections, with particular emphasis on productivity, disease resistance and adaptation to Piedmontese soil and climate conditions.
The meeting will conclude with Riccardo Fagnola (Agrion Foundation), who will provide an update on blueberry pot cultivation trials combined with agrivoltaic systems, a technique aimed at increasing land-use efficiency with agronomic and energy benefits.
Training and sustainable innovation
The event is accredited for the awarding of professional training credits (CFP) for members of the College of Agrotechnicians and Graduate Agrotechnicians of Cuneo. The Interprovincial College of Agricultural Experts has also granted its patronage.
The meeting represents an important opportunity to stay updated on innovations in varietal research and sustainable plant protection strategies, two key pillars for the competitiveness of fruit growing in Piedmont and Italy.
