The survey was conducted on 02/07/2024 in the urban area of Padua (Italy) and covered 12 points of sale belonging to 12 different brands under 11 groups of large-scale distribution.
The assortments of the points of sale of the following brands were surveyed: Aldi, Alìper, Conad Superstore, Coop, Eurospin, Famila, Iperlando, Lidl, Martinelli, Pam, Rossetto, Super A&O.
The prices of berries recorded in week 27/2024 by the Osservatorio Piccoli Frutti in Padua are generally low for blueberries and blackberries, while for raspberries they are average.
Quality of Berries
The quality of the berries is average, neither too good nor too bad, with nothing exceptional. However, there are peaks of mold and spoilage for raspberries, blackberries, and blueberries. In particular, the quality of raspberries is not good at all.
Blueberries
Blueberries from Spain are still present on the market. The sizes of the blueberries are slightly larger than usual, with packages of 250 and 500 grams, although the main package remains 125 grams.
Raspberries
The origin of the raspberries varies between Italy, Portugal, Spain, and Poland, with Poland offering excellent quality.
