New raspberry varieties AVA Monet and AVA Dali improve economic viability

Angus Soft Fruits has introduced two new raspberry varieties, AVA Monet and AVA Dali, designed to enhance the economic viability of raspberry cultivation. These varieties were developed in response to rising production costs that have led many UK growers to reduce or stop their raspberry production.

After years of trials, the Scottish producer claims these primocane raspberries offer premium quality, high yield, and sustainability. Both varieties are cost-effective and easy to pick, addressing the needs of growers, retailers, and consumers. They are noted for their large fruit, attractive appearance, long shelf life, and strong disease resistance.

Angus Soft Fruits is currently conducting trials in various European and North African countries to achieve year-round production. The initial results have been promising, with exceptional yields reported in several locations.

These new berries are expected to benefit both growers and consumers by providing consistently sweet fruit with excellent flavor and durability. To mark the launch, a special event was held in Scotland, where artist Prudence Staite created artworks using only AVA Monet and AVA Dali raspberries, further highlighting their uniqueness.
