Kasey Cronquist, president of USHBC and NABC, predicts stable production volumes and favorable pricing and demand for blueberries in the US this year.

Despite a slight reduction in overall supply compared to last year, domestic production is expected to increase, with growers projecting over 700 million pounds of blueberries. Consumption is on the rise, driven by a dedicated consumer base, although production decreases in 2023 led to higher prices.

There's room for growth, as only 49% of US households consume blueberries, but it's already the second-highest fruit sales by dollars.

With increasing production both domestically and abroad, especially in countries like Peru and Mexico, the blueberry category is expected to continue growing and potentially become the top-selling fruit in the US. USHBC aims to promote blueberries globally, particularly in Asia, with programs to boost awareness and exports to countries like Hong Kong, Singapore, and Japan.
