Viveros California has announced that its innovative raspberry variety VICA Alegría is now available to all producers who wish to grow it.
The general manager of Viveros California, Antonio Infante, stated that “VICA Alegría is designed to adapt to various climatic conditions and planting periods so that farmers can optimize production cycles to meet customer needs. This ensures quality and profitability for farmers.” Viveros California officially presented this variety at the 9th Red Fruit Congress in Huelva.
This is a premium raspberry variety with high fruit quality and post-harvest shelf life. Farmers can access it freely, without club restrictions or exclusive agreements.
Adaptability and productivity
VICA Alegría has been tested with excellent results in different international agricultural environments, highlighting its adaptability in Huelva, Portugal, Greece, Morocco, and Mexico.
This variety stands out for its efficient production cycles: production starts in about 115 days and, after pruning, in 70–80 days, optimizing timing and improving crop planning. It is a variety with high productivity and profitability, yielding around 2 kg (4.4 lb) per plant in both harvests.
Additionally, it features exceptional quality and large size, maintaining its characteristics throughout the entire production cycle. And a unique flavor, with a Brix level close to 10º, guarantees a perfect balance between sweetness and acidity.
Commitment to innovation
Viveros California, a company from Huelva with more than 60 years of experience in plant nurseries and varietal improvement, strengthens its position in the agri-food market with the results of this innovative raspberry variety.
It offers high quality, innovation, and adaptability. This open marketing model allows farmers to maximize their performance without limitations, facilitating access to premium varieties and opening a range of opportunities for the sector.
