Agreement builds on four years of EasyRose® ‘ALEL101’ cultivation as Fall Creek® expands its raspberry and blackberry businesses.
Verona, Italy – Fall Creek Farm and Nursery, Inc., a world-leading blueberry, raspberry and blackberry genetics and nursery company, today announced it has entered into an exclusive propagation and sales license agreement with Lucchini Berries SRL for Easy Rose® ‘ALEL101’, a primocane raspberry developed by Elisa and Alessandro Lucchini in Verona, Italy.
The partnership follows Fall Creek®’s June 2026 acquisition of Berryplant and Berrytech and is another step in the company’s development of its raspberry and blackberry business.
Easy Rose® ‘ALEL101’ is now in its fourth year of cultivation and has been evaluated and planted in Italy, Spain, Portugal, Mexico, Morocco and Egypt. Fall Creek® will continue evaluation in additional territories and commercialize the variety in countries where trials are successful.
Production characteristics
The variety can be grown in both primocane and floricane cycles and has shown potential for a third crop under favorable conditions. In primocane production, harvest can begin 90 to 100 days after transplanting.
Easy Rose® ‘ALEL101’ produces fruit averaging more than seven grams, with a light pink color at full ripeness, firm and dry texture and sweet flavor.
Easy Rose® ‘ALEL101’ has also been evaluated in mild and Mediterranean climates and at higher latitudes, with production extending across the harvest season.
It is well adapted to different growing conditions, producing high-quality fruit with good shelf life, and will complement Fall Creek®’s existing berry portfolio by providing raspberry growers with greater flexibility across different production systems and growing conditions.
