On March 4, 2026, the second European Blueberry Cultivation Conference will take place in Milan, at the Air Hotel Linate. This unmissable technical event will be led by Sebastian Ochoa, considered the world’s leading expert, who will focus on the topic of increasing both yield and profitability of blueberry plantations.
As with the first edition in 2025, more than 120 growers, agronomists, and experts from around the world are expected to attend. Sergio Panini of agroconsulenze.com, the conference organizer, outlines the main topics of the event.
“Sebastian Ochoa will provide agronomic and technical answers to some of the most recurring questions among European and international growers:
1. What are the three most common agronomic mistakes currently limiting yield and quality in new blueberry plantings in Mediterranean Europe?
2. When evaluating a blueberry project in a new growing area, which parameters do you consider decisive in estimating actual profitability, not just yield?
3. You often emphasize the link between crop management and varietal choice: which ‘variety + production system’ combinations do you currently consider most promising for the European market?
4. What lessons are the leading blueberry-producing countries (Peru, Mexico, Morocco, China, Chile) teaching European growers today, and which practices cannot be directly transferred to Italy and Europe?
5. If an Italian or European grower asked you today for a 24-month improvement plan, where would you start: planting system, nutrition, irrigation, pruning, harvesting, or post-harvest? And in what order of priority?
In addition, agronomic techniques aimed at improving production and profitability will be explored in depth.”
Speakers will also include Andrea Pergher, Area Manager at Fall Creek Europe; Hans Widmann, owner of https://www.widmann-fruechte.de/; Rafel Barona of Driscoll’s; and many others.
More than 20 sponsors with exhibition areas will be present, showcasing innovations such as new varieties, technical inputs, packaging machinery, packaging solutions, harvesting systems, substrates, irrigation systems, pots, agrivoltaics, Drosophila control solutions, biostimulants, and AI-powered smart glasses.

The following day, March 5, 2026, also at the Air Hotel Linate in Milan, a “commercial” event will be held, featuring meetings between buyers/importers and growers, not only of berries: the BtoB buyers-growers meeting.
The last remaining seats are still available for both events.
