Global Plant Genetics (GPG) has signed a licensing agreement with Niwa, a Polish Rubus breeding programme, for two new primocane blackberry varieties, Maryna and Juhas.
This deal allows GPG to represent these cultivars internationally.
Niwa's breeding efforts aim to enhance the global blackberry industry with improved cultivars.
The Maryna variety is suited for double cropping, while Juhas is ideal for single primocane harvesting.
GPG co-owner Jamie Petchell highlights the potential of these varieties to significantly impact the global blackberry market.
