Due in part to the global scarcity of blueberries, with Chile and Peru now out of the markets and Spain and Morocco not yet fully in place, the week of March 13, 2023 sees a double-digit jump in the price index of blueberries, which with a 12.9 percent increase also drags up the price index of berries in the Italian retail sector (+5.8 percent) compared to last week.

In the online Retail retailers surveyed, there was a 3 percent change in the number of references berries in the assortment to 37 from 36 in the previous survey on 06/03/2023.

One-third of the number of references on offer are blueberries (32.1 percent); followed by blackberries at 26.7 percent and raspberries at 23.3 percent; red currants close with14.3 percent of the references on offer.
