Strawberry seminar in Portugal looking ahead to the future of the industry

166

The strawberry has long been a popular fruit on the Portuguese consumer's table with a long tradition of production.

However, the cultivation of the fruit continues to have a reduced expression in Portugal and not being self-sufficient the country is forced to import between 16 and 20 thousand tonnes of strawberries annually.

The strawberry seminar, with the theme 'Will there be a production chain in Portugal?aims to bring together the various actors involved in the strawberry production chain (nurserymen, producers, distribution and marketing companies, technicians, researchers and other professional actors) to promote discussion and analysis of the sector in order to contribute to its revival in an active, sustainable, innovative and competitive way.
