The handover from Francisco José Gómez
In announcing the appointments, Freshuelva thanked Francisco José Gómez for his dedication and work during his four years as president.
According to the association, his term in office helped to strengthen unity within the sector, establish the Congreso Internacional de Frutos Rojos as a leading international event and reinforce Freshuelva’s role as the voice of companies and producers in their relations with public institutions.
Over the years, the congress held annually in Huelva has become one of the main meeting points for the international berry supply chain, attracting industry professionals, companies, technical experts and institutional representatives from several countries.

Continuity and representation at the heart of the new term
José Antonio Martín takes over the presidency with the stated aim of continuing the collective work carried out by the association and defending the interests of producers and companies as they face the sector’s main challenges.
The new leadership will represent the sector at a time marked by strategic issues for Huelva’s production industry, including water and labour availability, sustainability, international competitiveness, varietal innovation and relations with retailers.
With its new leadership structure, Freshuelva therefore aims to consolidate its representative role and maintain cohesion within a supply chain that forms one of Europe’s leading hubs for the production and export of strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and blackberries.
