On Thursday, June 5, 2025, at 3:30 p.m., the Agrion Experimental Horticultural Center in Boves (CN - Italy) will host a key technical event for the strawberry sector in Piedmont: the “June-bearing Strawberry Meeting”, organized by the Agrion Foundation in collaboration with the Region of Piedmont.
The event, dedicated to professional operators in the sector, is part of the “GREEN CoirOttoFrut” project, funded by EAFRD under the Piedmont Rural Development Programme 2023–2027 (Call 1/2023 – Action SRH05). The initiative aims to transfer practical and up-to-date knowledge on the innovations underway in the cultivation of unifera strawberries— a variety that represents a significant segment of the regional fruit and vegetable production.
The program includes three main highlights:
the presentation of the latest findings from the experimental research conducted in Agrion’s fields;
a visit to the variety trial plots, where participants can directly observe the agronomic and qualitative performance of the tested cultivars;
a pomological exhibition showcasing the harvested fruits, useful for an immediate comparison of the visual and organoleptic traits of the tested varieties.
The meeting will provide a valuable opportunity for technical exchange between researchers, technicians, producers, and institutional representatives, with a particular focus on the valorization of cultivars best suited to Piedmont’s soil and climate conditions, within a framework of sustainability and innovation.
The event will take place at:
Agrion – Experimental Horticultural Center
Via Albertasse, 16 – Boves (CN)
For the Piedmontese strawberry sector, this is an important opportunity to get up to date, engage in dialogue, and look to the future with practical tools and a shared vision for growth.
